When an accident occurs and people sustain various forms of trauma, especially to the head; depending on the gravity of injuries, there are only minutes to get them to a medical facility. Any delay may result in them suffering permanent brain damage and death.
It is in this vein that the Nigerian Red Cross Society is partnering with the Federal Ministry of Transport and Xi Phi Limited to execute the Pre and Post Crash Initiative for the Transportation Sector.
This campaign which will roll out across motor parks in Nigeria, aims to supports section 119 (2) of the National Road Traffic Regulations, 2012, the Global Plan For the Decade of Action for Road Safety and the efforts of the Nigerian Road Safety Commission.
The Pre and Post Crash Initiative will see Commercial Road Transport Workers trained in critical and lifesaving First Aid Skills. Meanwhile, the Federal Ministry of Transport and Xi Phi Limited will partner on the building of an online, real time, Road Database that will help in situations of emergency medical care.
