According to the March 2021 Cadre Harmonize Analysis, 2.53 million people in the North West of Nigeria are projected to be food insecure between June – August 2021 and possibly beyond.
Nigeria's North Central and North West Zones are also afflicted with multidimensional crisis such as kidnapping and banditry.
It was in a bid to stave off these worrying facts that the NRCS with the support of the IFRC, embarked on a NEEDS assessment in Kebbi, Sokoto, Katsina, Niger, Benue and Nasarawa states. The idea behind the assessment is for the NRCS to figure out how exactly it will intervene in these states for best results.
